The Fourth Annual Statewide Women in Agriculture and Small Business Conference

Oklahoma’s Fourth Annual Statewide Conference was presented by the Great Plains Resource Conservation and Development, USDA Risk Management Agency, generous sponsors, and a team of dedicated professionals. The conference was held on September 20th & 21st , 2007 at the Moore Norman Technology Center located at SW 134th Street & Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City. Attendees received handouts from the breakouts they attended, business and tax materials, along with speakers and exhibitors contact information. Just as in the past it was a great opportunity for women to hear great success stories and to get new ideas for their own business!

The planning committee worked hard to put together a conference that would assist women as they work to be successful in their endeavors. The agenda had many experienced speakers that gave tips on how to run a business smoothly and efficiently, along with USDA employees that gave helpful information on programs that are available for farm and ranching. The keynote speakers included Charlotte Lankard, Director of Integris James L. Hall Jr., Center for Mind, Body, and Spirit, Cindi Broaddus (Dr. Phil’s sister-in-law), author of “A Random Act”, and Cathy Jameson of Jameson Management and author of two books “Great Communication Equals Great Production” and “Scheduling for Productivity, Profitability, and Stress Control”. Thursday’s luncheon speaker was Gene McFall and his show “The Witty World of Will Rogers” and Friday’s luncheon speaker was Steve Owens of “Oklahoma Gardening”.
