Goals/Mission Statement:
Great Plains RC&D is a non-profit organization ran by a council of volunteers with a heart
to help assist local people by providing tools and technical support to stabilize and grow
their own communities while protecting and developing natural resources.
We provide direction, organization and planning for the implementation of projects to
aid the fine people of southwestern Oklahoma in these areas.
The Mission of the council is to increase public awareness of environmental concerns
and accelerate the development and protection of human, financial and natural
resources, thereby improving the quality of life in southwestern Oklahoma.
The main goals of the Great Plains RC&D Council are:
1. To develop community facilities and services to insure safety and a high standard of
living.
2. To improve and promote the utilization of area’s rangelands, woodlands, mineral
resources and wildlife habitats with minimal effects on environment.

Area/Region we cover:
8 counties in southwestern Oklahoma: Beckham, Custer, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa,
Roger Mills and Washita.
